Earwigs
The earwig is easily identified by their pincers (forceps harmless to humans) at the ends of their abdomen. The are reddish brown, shinny appearance with a flattened body measuring 13 to 30mm long.
The hatching takes place in the ground mid-May.
The earwig undergoes four stages before reaching adulthood. In Quebec, the first group of adults usually appear in June and remain until October.
